It is listed as vulnerable (both <em>Mitragyna ledermannii<\/em> and <em>M. stipulosa<\/em>) due to a population reduction of over 20% in the past three generations, caused by a decline in its natural range, and exploitation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #105378;\"><strong>Common Uses:<\/strong><\/span> A general-purpose lumber used for furniture, interior millwork, plywood, and flooring.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a style=\"color: #105378;\" name=\"fleroya\"><\/a><span class=\"ejm\"><strong>Comments:<\/strong><\/span> Sometimes sold under the commercial name bahia, there are only three species, all coming from Africa, that are used interchangeably as abura lumber. The most common is <em>Mitragyna ledermannii<\/em> (and its synonym <em>M. ciliata<\/em>), along with <em>M. stipulosa<\/em>. The third and least common is <em>M. rubrostipulata<\/em>. These species have been formerly placed in the <em>Hallea<\/em> genus (now considered a synonym), and later in <em>Fleroya<\/em><span class=\"footnote_referrer\"><a role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" onclick=\"footnote_moveToReference_257_1('footnote_plugin_reference_257_1_1');\" onkeypress=\"footnote_moveToReference_257_1('footnote_plugin_reference_257_1_1');\" ><sup id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_257_1_1\" class=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text\">[1]<\/sup><\/a><span id=\"footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_257_1_1\" class=\"footnote_tooltip\">Deng, Y. (2007). Fleroya, a substitute name for Hallea J.\u2010F.
